Lookah Seahorse King Review: A Portable, Powerful, Long-Lasting Electric Dab Straw

Lookah has made a name for itself as the go-to brand for multi-faceted, affordable, easy-to-use wax vaporizers, especially the seahorse series electric nectar collector dab pens.

These types of devices go by different names; nectar collector, honey dabber, dab straw, honey straw, a vertical dab, etc.

The Lookah Seahorse King is the updated form of the well-known Seahore pro plus. Although like the Seahore pro plus to start with appearance, it is a bit bigger and it has a few additional features. Let’s plunge in and simply take a look that is close!

Sleek and Durable Design

Speaking of the design and build quality, Lookah Seahorse King is pretty solid and has an eye-catching appeal. The simple, yet elegant design brags sophistication.

The Lookah Seahorse King is built from high-quality components, making it one of the most reliable electric nectar collector wax pens on the market.

It has a sleek and durable Zinc Alloy shell for cooling and protects the battery when you carry it in your pocket or purse.

Compared to Seahore pro plus made of plastic, the Seahorse King looks slightly more durable and can withstand more use without getting damaged.

Long-lasting 950mAh Battery and USB-C Charging

Get dab-like rips with the convenience of a vape pen from this monster pen. While you might be worried that all this power means you’ll be sacrificing battery life, you’d be dead wrong.

The Lookah team stepped it up and threw in a massive 950 mAh battery. That’s almost double the capacity of the standard seahorse pro plus (650mAh). This means you get the added benefits of massive rips with the battery capacity to Heavy vape all day.

Additionally, the Lookah Seahorse King Vaporizer also features USB-C charging which allows you to recharge it on-the-go. Like most portable vaporizers, I’d imagine charging it on your phone charger, or a power bank you have inside your tech bag.

Portability

The Seahorse King is definitely portable – its 150.9mm tall, 40.6mm wide, and 22.5mm thick. Making it one of the most portable concentrate devices out there. Even when accompanied with storage – there will still be a lot of space in your bag.

Compared with Seahore Queen desktop version launched at the same time, the Seahorse King Vaporizer still puts forward a great deal especially for consumers who are always on-the-go.

Quartz Heating Tip and Performance

The Sehorse King has an exposed coil that lets users to dip the hot tip directly in the material while inhaling through the mouthpiece.

Same as Seahorse Pro Plus, Its included tip is Type V seahorse see-through quartz coil that heats instantly for quick, potent draws.

This type of seahorse coil boasts an enlarged Quartz tube, see-through design, and embedded heating element. This means you will get nothing but a crisp and clean vapor as you vape because of the larger heating area and no metal exposure. You will be able to taste the true essence of your concentrates without any metallic aftertaste.

The end of the device has a 510 thread connection so I can also use my THC and CBD oil carts on here. Plus, the seahorse king is also compatible with other 4 types of seahorse tips (510 thread) for a slightly different vaping experience.

Adjustable Voltage Settings

The Seahorse King Vaporizer is outfitted with three different heat settings (3.2v, 3.6v, and 4.0V) that allow you to customize your dabbing experience depending on what type of material is being vaporized.

It's a standard low, medium, and high profile but the slightest difference in temperature can make a huge impact on your experience especially when vaping extracts.

Vapor Quality

The clouds can released strike me personally just like a horse in a fashion that my regular dab pen can’t match.

The airpath isn’t exactly the longest, but it’s enough to cool the vapor. The glass mouthpiece tube is a nice addition, ensuring a pure and clean taste with each use.

Additionally, You can get an extra seahorse glass bubbler with efficient water filtration function for smooth, cool vapor, making the overall dabbing experience better.

On the lowest setting and a cold load – the vapor is definitely flavorful. If it’s a large dense vapor you’re after, do a hot load with the middle setting. The highest setting was simply too much and produced a pretty harsh, thick result.

Ease of Use

Let’s not forget the device’s user-friendly design – with only one button to control the device. It does not get much simpler than that!

Simply click the button five times quickly to turn the Seahorse King on/off, and click it two times quickly to change the voltage levels.

The voltage levels are also indicated by the LED light on the device; 3.2 volts (white), 3.7 volts (blue), and 4.2 volts (green).

Dual-Use Modes

Once you’ve picked a voltage setting, you can then opt to use any of the two use modes: on-demand (or manual model) and session mode (or Auto Mode).

On-demand mode: This mode fires the atomizer only when you press the firing button. You can hold it for up to 20s before it shuts off and you have to hold it again.

When you press and hold the button, the tip gets hot and you just drop it on top of the concentrates. It just pulls it right in to vape. You can get a few good hits and then go for another one.

Session mode: This mode keeps the atomizer preheat for 15s first and then keeps the coil hot for 25s so that you can continuously vape without having to hold the button.

Press the firing button three times fast to activate it and the same to turn it off. I’ve been using this mode to get the tip hot and then I switch to on-demand mode.

15s Pre-heat Function

it’s good to know that the Seahorse King features a 15-second pre-heat function in session mode that allows it to run a 15-second heat cycle at lower temp level.

The pre-heat function is best used when vaping harder or colder concentrates for the full experience.

Cleaning

While the Lookah Seahorse King doesn’t require much cleaning, proper care and maintenance will keep it tasting fresh and lengthen its lifespan.

Luckily, Its detachable parts and straight airway design allows for easy cleaning and maintenance.

Pay attention to the quartz tip, the more wax buildup, the harder it is to clean. I recommend running a burn off cycle after each session to get rid of any leftover resin stuck in the heating coil.

Whenever the vapor starts to taste more burnt than normal, it's time to deep clean your Seahorse King.

Disassemble the Seahorse King, Soak the glass mouthpiece and quartz tip, in Isopropyl alcohol for 30 minutes or even more.

Rinse off any excess alcohol with clean water. Get rid of tough spots with included cleaning brush.

Let everything dry thoroughly before putting the Seahorse King back together.

Final Thoughts

Lookah Seahorse King is undoubtedly larger and chunkier than most portable vaporizers. While it may be more solid while handling, it will also be less comfortable.

So if you’re aiming at buying something smaller and nicer to handle, the Seahorse King won’t fit the bill. In this case, the seahorse pro plus would be a better choice!

Apart from this one little imperfection, the Seahorse King is a solid and simple unit with long-lasting battery. It has all the functionalities of an electric nectar collector making it flexible and adaptable to certain situations and different material types.

Plus, The device is easy to clean and provides a crisp and clean vapor. You can only imagine the possibilities of using a vaporizer this flexible of this stature.

Personally, I really enjoy using the seahorse king and is a big fan. It makes vaping concentrates really easy and convenient. The flavor is great, it’s not too hot, and it has good airflow.

Overall, It works, it does the job – and it does it relatively well – especially considering its $55.24 price tag. It’s definitely a device I would recommend to start vaping concentrates with.
